Last night I was walking home next to the River Thames when something strange happened to me. It was late at night and I’d had a long day at work. I needed some time to relax and get some peace of mind. a. When I woke up, the moon had moved behind a cloud and it was very dark and cold. I thought it would be a good idea to stop by the riverside and look at the moon for a while. So, I sat on a bench and looked up at the big yellow moon. It looked beautiful and calming. Suddenly, I felt very tired, so I closed my eyes and I fell asleep.
b. “Don’t fall asleep by the river when there’s a full moon”, he said. The wind was blowing and an owl was hooting in a tree. I was trying to get up w hen suddenly I heard a splash. I looked down at the water and saw something. I had never seen anything like that before. It was green and ugly and it was coming out of the water and moving towards me. Its green arm was stretching out from the water to grab my leg.
c. I’d never been so scared in my whole life. I was so scared that I couldn’t move. The cold green hand was moving closer and closer when suddenly someone jumped behind me with a flashlight. He was wearing strange clothes and he pointed his flashlight at the monster in the water and shouted “Get Back!” The monster hissed and disappeared back into the river. After a few minutes of shock, I looked up at the man. He looked different, but kind.
d. There was a large full moon in the sky and everything was quiet. “The Moon Goblins will get you.” What was he talking about? I’d never heard of moon goblins before. In fact, I had never believed in monsters before. I didn’t know what to say. “Who… who are you?” I asked him. “You can call me… The Doctor” he said. Then, he turned around and said, “Watch the stars at night, and be careful of the full moon”. Then, there was another blue flash and he had gone. I couldn’t believe what had happened. Was I dreaming? Was it my imagination? Who were Moon Goblins, and who was this mysterious Doctor? And why did he save me? I was determined to find the answers to these strange questions. I stood up, looked at the moon and quickly walked home.

Dün gece Thames Nehri kıyısında evime yürürken başıma tuhaf bir şey geldi. Gecenin geç saatleriydi ve işte uzun bir gün geçirmiştim. Biraz rahatlamaya ve kafamı toparlamaya ihtiyacım vardı. A. Uyandığımda ay bir bulutun arkasına geçmişti, hava çok karanlık ve soğuktu. Nehir kenarında durup bir süre aya bakmanın iyi bir fikir olacağını düşündüm. Ben de bir bankta oturdum ve büyük sarı aya baktım. Çok güzel ve sakinleştirici görünüyordu. Bir anda kendimi çok yorgun hissettim, gözlerimi kapattım ve uykuya daldım.
B. “Dolunay varken nehir kenarında uyuya kalmayın” dedi. Rüzgâr esiyordu ve bir ağaçta bir baykuş ötüyordu. Aniden bir su sesi duyduğumda ayağa kalkmaya çalışıyordum. Suya baktım ve bir şey gördüm. Daha önce hiç böyle bir şey görmemiştim. Yeşil ve çirkindi, sudan çıkıp bana doğru geliyordu. Yeşil kolu bacağımı yakalamak için sudan uzanıyordu.
C. Hayatım boyunca hiç bu kadar korkmamıştım. O kadar korktum ki hareket edemiyordum. Soğuk yeşil el gittikçe yaklaşıyordu ki aniden biri elinde bir el feneriyle arkama atladı. Tuhaf kıyafetler giyiyordu ve el fenerini sudaki canavara doğrultarak “Geri Çekin!” diye bağırdı. Canavar tısladı ve nehre doğru gözden kayboldu. Birkaç dakikalık şokun ardından başımı kaldırıp adama baktım. Farklı ama nazik görünüyordu.
D. Gökyüzünde büyük bir dolunay vardı ve her şey sessizdi. “Ay Goblinleri seni yakalayacak.” o ne hakkında konuşuyordu? Daha önce ay goblinlerini hiç duymamıştım. Aslında daha önce canavarlara hiç inanmamıştım. Ne diyeceğimi bilmiyordum. “Kim… sen kimsin?” Ona sordum. “Bana…Doktor diyebilirsin” dedi. Sonra dönüp, “Gece yıldızları izleyin, dolunaya dikkat edin” dedi. Sonra başka bir mavi ışık daha göründü ve o gitmişti. Olanlara inanamadım. Rüya mı görüyordum? Benim hayal gücüm müydü? Ay Goblinleri kimdi ve bu gizemli Doktor kimdi? Peki beni neden kurtardı? Bu tuhaf soruların yanıtlarını bulmaya kararlıydım. Ayağa kalktım, aya baktım ve hızla eve yürüdüm.
